Updating
Glint can check for updates automatically on startup or manually from the menu.
Automatic Updates
By default, Glint checks for updates 3 seconds after launch. If a new version is available, a persistent toast notification appears:
Update available: vX.X.X [Install Now]
If you’re already on the latest version, no notification is shown.
To disable automatic checks, uncheck Check for updates on launch in Settings under Git. You can still check manually at any time.
Manual Check
Go to Help > Check for Updates. Glint will show a notification whether an update is available or you’re already up to date.
Installing an Update
- Click Install Now on the update notification
- A confirmation dialog appears: “The app will restart to apply the update”
- Click Install & Restart to proceed, or Later to postpone
- Glint downloads the update, installs it, and relaunches automatically
If the download fails, an error notification appears and you can try again later.
Version Information
Your current version is shown in Help > About. Version strings may include a channel suffix (e.g., 0.2.0-beta) for pre-release builds.
